No flipping and a class done....

Well, Riley still has not flipped, she seems to have found a great little spot on the top of my stomach. Her head is on my left ribs and her bottom and legs are on my right ribs. Let me tell you......it SURE is comfy.....FOR HER!! But I guess as long as she is comfortable that is all that matters, right!?!?!

Joe and I went to a birthing class today. It was great!! 9-5, there was one other couple there, and we covered EVERYTHING!! Everything from what we need to pack for the hospital to what to expect after we get home with our little one. She talked about pain medicine, breast feeding, what will happen in the hospital, c-sections, changing diapers, swaddling the baby, the list goes on!! It was really nice because it was only one day and we focused on the areas that we all had more questions and less on areas that we were comfortable with. I would highly recommend her class (so if you or someone else wants or needs to take a class, let me know!) I feel MUCH better now!! Plus, I got to watch Joe change a "dirty" diaper.....it just had mustard in it, but it was still priceless to see his face.

Anyways, I guess it is now time to get a few last minute things done: pack the hospital bag, wash some of Riley's clothes, and mentally get ready!! Off to get started.....

flips and turns

Well......no Riley has not flipped yet, but she is definatly moving around a lot!! All day today I had to sit up perfectly straight because she was laying straight arcoss the top of my stomach. Her head was on my left ribs, her butt on my right ribs and her feet kicking my bladder!! So, I was not happy at all today. But, I guess that if she is moving around a lot then we should still be hopefully that she will flip on her own!!

Stubborn already!

We had our 34 week check up today and Riley has not turned yet. She flipped her back from my left side to my right, but her head is still up. I go back for my next appointment in 2 weeks (March 3rd) if she has not turned by then I will have to head to the hospital for a procedure called an external cephalic version (ECV). This is where they will try to turn her, but the doctor today said that a lot of the times if the version works the baby tends to just return to their original position, since that is how they are most comfortable.

SO......if that is the case and Riley is determined to stay heads-up then we will have to schedule a c-section. I am not too worried about it. I think that she will turn, she is REALLY active and always moving. But if she doesn't then it is not a big deal, I am ok with having a c-section. I say that now...but who knows when the time comes. On the bright side, if I have a c-section then I get two more weeks of paid leave!! Well stay tuned, I will update you when I know more!!

Baby Shower #2

On Saturday my sister held a baby shower for me at her house. It was for family and friends and what a great time!! The food was great, place looked wonderful and we had a great time. I must admit, I was a bit overwhelmed with so many people there for Riley and I. By the time I got home I was exhausted!! I showed Joe all the gifts and we just sat in Riley's room with stuff all around us. We are truely blessed to have so many people that love us! Thank you to everyone that could come and that have blessed us already. We love you!!

P.S. Pictures are coming....
