Not a Happy Camper...

The last two nights have not been fun. On Saturday night Riley woke up around 3 and then every hour after that. Finally at 5:30 she woke up SCREAMING!!! To the point that even holding her did not calm her down. The only thing that made her OK was a bottle. So we fed her, then 3 hours later, same thing. She took a 2 1/2 hour nap on Sunday afternoon and then had a blast playing with her friend Hailey. (Pictures to come soon!!)

Joe and I figured that she would sleep really well last night because she had a bad night on Saturday and played a lot on Sunday....boy were we wrong!! Last night was even worse. Starting around midnight, Riley was up every hour, and finally at 5:30 I just got up and we fed her. Actually, Joe fed her, and I showered and began my day. Needless to say I am exhausted.

When I picked Riley up from GiGi's today she had said that she had a bad day and would not nap. She asked if she had a bad weekend or if her eating schedule was of a bit. I mentioned that yes it had gotten off track a little (no ones fault, it just happened!!) And that Saturday night and Sunday night she was awake all night. GiGi mentioned that that could do it since she is on a schedule/routine at her house, so over the weekend we have to try to really keep her on the same sort of routine. Otherwise she will get all confused. She said that the best thing to do is to just keep her occupied and entertained when she seems to be hungry before it is time. She mentioned that walking with her or dancing with her really works well. (Which I have found out over the last 2 weeks!!) By getting up and moving with her she is occupied with other surroundings and seeing other sights. It will take her mind off wanting food or thinking that she wants food. When babies get bored they tend to fall back to thinking it is time to eat (hey, I do the same thing too!! If I am bored, I eat. If I am tired, I eat. If I want something to occupy my tame, I eat!) She said that over the next day or two she should get back on track. I sure am hoping!! She didn't take her normal nap this afternoon when she got home. So she went from 2:30-7:30 without a nap!! Although she did lay on her blanket on the living room floor and was playing with her toys, then put her head down and rested for 15 minutes. So I think she should sleep well tonight (knock on wood).

I will post photos later.

Oh my gosh! Madeline too! this past week has been terrible! She wakes up at all hours of the night, whining and crying so she has been sleeping with us after about 1-2AM and then every 2-3 hours she wakes us up by talking to herself! Oh man... what happened to those perfect nights of sleep? What ever happened to those days when I used to "sleep in"? Then on top of that she barely takes a nap! I am exhausted, how come these little ones aren't?!?! Full of life and don't like our schedules. Man, we are in for it when they get older...
