10 Months and our First Snow!!

Riley is now 10 months old!! She is growing ssoo fast. Riley loves to "read" and is days from walking on her own. She will stand for a few seconds alone and loves to walk while holding our hands. She is branching out with her foods now too. She had some eggs this morning, but didn't like them. (I don't blame her, I don't either!!) We have also had to put locks on the kitchen cabinets since she has figured out how to open them.

Yesterday she got to play in the snow with Daddy, Mommy and Buster. She really just liked looking at the snow. Here are a few updated pictures of our big girl!!

Witnessing History

What a HUGE event!! Yesterday we got to witness history being made!! Riley, Joe and I spent yesterday morning watching Barack Obama become the first black president. We were all VERY happy to watch it and Joe and I are thrilled that Riley was alive to "witness" it. The three of us are excited to see what great things the next 4 years have in store for the country!! Although she will never remember it, we took some photos of her watching it.
Riley honored to have President Obama speaking to her!!

Riley listening intently to Obama's speech!!

All the excitement made Riley very hungry...so she ate some Spaghetti-O's!! What a delicious meal...yet messy!!

On Saturday Riley and I went to eat lunch with Alice and Amy (and Amy's two little ladies too!!) Here is a picture of Riley with Alice right before she knocked over Alice's drink and broke the glass!!

Then on Sunday we headed to Riley's Best Friend Madeline's baptism. She had a great time playing with Madeline and also got to meet Elvis!!

We also spent time relaxing at home on Monday....
Looking out front with Puppy

Yep.....she found the toilet paper!! It was pretty funny the first time...next time Mommy will not be so happy!! Although she looked SSOO proud that she figured out how to get it off the roll.....you gotta just love her!!

Around and Around We Go

It seems like we can never get away from a sickness. We get over one thing and BAM we get something else. We are now fighting off a "bad cold". On Sunday we went to a friends 1 year b-day party and Riley was not herself there. She was very clingy and wanted to be held the whole time. I just chalked it up to being tired. So we left early from the party, went home and she napped. Then when she woke up she was even fussier. So we did dinner and bath then she went right back to bed for the night around 7pm. Well....at about 8pm she woke up SCREAMING and the only way to calm her down was to get her out of her crib. She would immediately lay her head on your shoulder and fall right back to sleep. We would put her back in, she would sleep....for about 20 minutes!! Then wake up SCREAMING again!! This happened the whole night!! Ever 20 minutes we were up with her!! Then finally at 5am she fell asleep. I got up at that time and just went to work. I called GiGi at noon and she said that she was fine all morning. So at 3 when I went to get her yesterday I assumed that she was fine.....I was wrong! Cynthia was holding her while she slept. GiGi said that right after we got off the phone Riley fell apart. Wanted to be held and wanted to sleep in your arms. So I took her home and went to put her down for a nap, she was not having it. So Riley and I laid in my bed from 4-7:30 while she slept in my arms. I finally woke her up at 7:30 and tried to give her dinner. She was not having it. he just screamed and wanted to sleep.

So...long story short, we took her to the Urgent Care (useless trip) then to her pediatrician this morning. Dr. Cross said that she is fighting off a horrible cold. But, she is starting to cough again so we need to watch that. She goes tomorrow for her 9 month check up (I know, a little late, but we really wanted Dr. Cross and it was her earliest appointment). So she said today that she will recheck her lungs tomorrow since she gets respiratory problems REALLY easily. She has been pretty fussy tonight too....which was one of the MANY things Dr. Cross told me we should watch out for.

Luckily tomorrows appointment will be a fast and easy one for her. I think that she is starting to hate the doctors. Every time she goes she is either pocked or prodded. But tomorrow will be about a 10 minute visit. Normally at the 9 month appointment they draw blood, but since they did it a month ago with her Respiratory Infection they don't have to do it again. YIPPEE!!

I know this was a long post....sorry!!

Lots of Play time

A Bear in a Bucket!!
We have had a busy few days. Last week Riley and I went to have lunch with my friend Cyndi. She got to see Riley eating her mac n cheese....it was a beautiful and messy sight, but we had a great time as usual catching up!! Here are Cyndi and Riley after lunch.

Then on Sunday we had a play date with Madeline, Jackie and Chris!! They came over around 1:30 and we got to hang out and talk while the girls "played" together. Although they really enjoyed themselves the most when they were eating!! We had a great time and we're really happy that they could come over. Here are some pictures and videos of the girls together.
Playing with the music table.
Best Buddies....even wearing similar outfits!! (Totally not planned either!!)
