Updates

I know it has been a while since I have updated the blog....but we have been very busy!! Since my last blog Riley has been baptized and enjoyed the warm weather. On the 19th Riley was Baptized at Nativity Church in Burke. She was not thrilled sitting in the pew, so she screamed and tried to get down the whole time. But.....it is over and done with and we are very happy!! After the baptism we had a little arty at the Bouch's house with sandwiches and drinks. But, Riley was overly tired and she just wanted to go home. So, our party was cut short and we headed home for F.N.T. (Family Nap Time).

This past weekend it was REALLY warm out, so we got the Waterpillar out and Riley got to play in the sprinkler. Then on Sunday we went up to Fairfax Corner and she got to run in the fountain with the other kids. She LOVED it!! Clapping every time the water came out. What fun!!

Some of Riley new tricks include: saying "hi", waving Bye-bye and hi (she has been waving for a while, but now it is to actually say hi and bye). Riley will have full "conversations" with you, it makes no sense, but she will just babble on and on. We have realized that walking is a lot fast than crawling. She actually only crawls on rare occasions or if she needs to get to a place to stand up. She loves to play with the two kids that live next door. We will hang out in the front in the evenings and they all laugh and "talk" to each other. We roam the sidewalk and play in the grass. Oh yes, and we turned 13 months on Sunday!!


We are SSOOO looking forward to the summer and we are planning to get her a little baby pool for the backyard. Fun times ahead!!

Easter

HAPPY EASTER!!

Riley enjoyed celebrating her first Easter today. We headed down to my parents house at the lake for a delicious brunch....where we all ate way too much! We got some photos out near the lake too before we all got a bit cold from the wind. After our photo shoot we headed back to their house and hung out for a bit. Once she got tired we left and headed to Joe's parents house. We hung out there for a bit and played with everyone. However, Riley was a bit tired and we had to cut our visit short.

A Beautiful Weekend for Friends, Family and the Wagon

What a great weekend for hanging out with friends, family and strolls in the wagon. On Friday night we met Gamma and Papa (Ogranovitch Grandparents) for dinner at Uno's. We enjoyed some great pizza and good company. When we were done they gave us one of Riley's birthday presents...her own little chair. She LOVES it!! Although we are trying to teach her to SIT in the chair, she is enjoying playing in it. But soon enough she will learn.

Then on Saturday Riley and I visited with our friends Jackie, Chris, Madeline and Jack. We got to see their BEAUTIFUL new home, had some lunch (which ended a bit sooner that we wanted), then went for a walk...which ended in Madeline falling asleep in the wagon. We had a great time!! (Sorry again Madeline for hitting you with my sippy cup ~ Love, Riley)

Today we got up early and ran a bunch of errands then headed to the park. We got in the wagon and walked over to the playground. Riley LOVED the swings and the little tube you climb through. We had a great time and she was exhausted afterwards. After a nice long nap she got to wake up to Uncle Tommy visiting.

What a wonderful weekend!!! We hope you all got to go out and enjoy the beautiful weather too!!

WE'RE ONE!!

Holy cow we are 1!!!! I never thought this day would come, but it has and we are loving every minute of it!! She celebrated her birthday last week (26th) by enjoying some homemade sugar cookies with her friends at school. She LOVED it!! It was her first taste at sugar/sweets.

Then that evening we had dinner at home. Riley LOVES spaghetti-o's, but we are not fond of giving it to her due to the messiness it creates!! But, since it was her special day we caved and put her in an old shirt and let her dig in. She ended up looking like an Umpa-Lumpa from Willy Wonka!! She went straight to the tub afterwards!

This past Saturday we celebrated with some friends and family. We had a packed house and I think it was a bit overwhelming for her. She ended up sleeping through a lot of it! But she got the most important parts in.....cake and presents!! She was really sad her friend Madeline could not make it, but hopes she is feeling better and she is settling in to her new house =)

Riley is fully walking now and got herself a new set of walking shoes!! She is not a fan of them, she would rather be bare-foot. But, she needs them to make sure she doesn't be bow-legged. On Sunday we took her new wagon for a little spin areound the neighborhood and she loved it!!

We went on Monday to the doctors and Dr. Cross said she is PERFECT!! (Which we knew already!!)
Riley's stats are now:
Weight: 22.14 (79%)
Height: 30.5 (90%)

Riley got 3 shots and did as well as expected....however, once she got up from her afternoon nap she was not so happy. A little Tylenol and she was ok. She is now on whole milk and seems to be loving it. We are loving this age, she is a little sponge and taking everything in!!
