Long break

I have had a nice long break from work and in that time we have gotten a lot done in the babies room. I painted an old dresser, it was off white with older hardware. So I painted it a glossy white to match the crib and changing table and got new hardware. It turned out really good....if I don't say so myself!! Joe helped me and painted the bookshelf that is in there too, that is not white also. I painted the window sills, they were off white and a bit dirt. So the room is looking great!

We got a lot of great stuff for Christmas for Riley. We now have the stroller and car seat ready to go, lots of clothes already, the changing pad, and some decorations on the walls already too. With about 3 months to go we are well on our way to being ready for our little girl to arrive.

I go to the doctor on January 9th for my 28 week check-up. I am hoping the scales are kind to me this time. I have been hitting the gym a few times a week. I started out walking and swimming, but I have now started to run instead of walk. It is a SLOW run, but a run none-the-less! Joe has begun to join me too. And with my long break I have been able to get to the gym more often than not. Although.....today was a day of rest.....I did NOTHING all day. It felt great. Joe went to the Redskins game and I relaxed at home. Which was really my only day so far that I have taken for myself.

Yesterday was Joe's birthday, so we went out with my parents for lunch and then hit Nicks country Bar last night for some line-dancing and singing. But it tired Riley and I out and so today we enjoyed each others company.

Well.....off to bed to read for a while.

Baby Room

We are moving along with the babies room. While Joe was out working on Saturday I said that I would get all the parts out of the box. That way, when he got home we could put it together. Well......I started to look at the directions and figured that I would "just start" putting it together. Well, one thing lead to another and I did it all!! Joe was really surprised and very happy. We then went to BabiesRus and picked up the changing table/combo unit. The room is coming along nicely!!

To top off a great weekend, we won Fantasy Football!! Which means we won a large sum of money.....off to get a recliner/rocking chair for the room and other baby stuff!! I am feeling SSSOOO much better already about the room and all the stuff we need to do.

We are going on Wednesday for the hospital tour. Just one more thing I will be able to check off our list of things to do/get. We hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Fast Heartbeat

I had my doctors appointment on Tuesday and everything is going great. Our little girl is very active and has a great and strong heartbeat!! Everything is looking great. My next appointment will be the one where I drink the sugar drink and they check my blood for diabetes.

Joe and I have been working out. He is running and lifting and I am walking fast and swimming. I tried to jog the other day, but it was uncomfortable and I felt like our baby girl was bouncing around too much. So I am going back to walking fast. I feel much better about myself and I am not feeling like I still have 3 chins anymore....I am down to only 2!!!

We are moving along with the baby room. We (Joe) moved out the furniture and Joe just cleaned the carpet yesterday. So we are going to plan to put together the crib soon and we ordered the changing table/dresser over the weekend. It should be here in a week or two. So we are moving along!! We have an extra dresser in the room that is off white, so I plan to paint that white.

Pain in the Back....

So over the Thanksgiving break I was have some serious back pains. I thought that it was only going to get worst and that the last four months of this was going to be really bad. But.....after taking Joe's advice I tried stretching, and it worked!! My back has been feeling great since then!! I head to the doctors on Tuesday for my 24 weeks check-up. My mom will be joining me for this one. I can't believe that I will be 6 months along already!! Time sure is flying.

Two weeks ago Joe and I bought the crib. We have not put it together yet because we want to get the room cleaned out and Joe is going to clean the carpets. However, we have moved Joe's clothes over to our room and he moved the furniture downstairs. So now the babies room only have a little cabinet, dresser, and a bookshelf. So we are well on our way to getting ready to finally meet her.

We go for the hospital tour on the 19th and we are getting ready to sign up for a Birthing Class. We are going to take it through a certified Labor and Delivery nurse. She does them on the side and said that she was sick of hearing moms in labor saying, "They didn't teach me about THIS in the class!!" So she goes through EVERYTHING (labor, cesarean, what to bring with you, the first few weeks after the baby is born, etc.) So that will be in February.

Movin' And Shakin'

Last night while laying in bed and talking Joe and I got to actually SEE our little girl move!! It was amazing for us. Joe loved it, because although he had felt her move, there is nothing like SEEING it. She will be playing soccer before long!!

The Name Game

We have started to toss around a few names, but having a lot of trouble picking one. I have almost gotten through the "girls name" section of the book and we have not narrowed down the name yet. We come along a name we like, then a few days later we are not too sure about it anymore. I guess we still have 4 months left to figure it out. But since I am a "planner" I would love to have that as one thing I could cross off my list of things to do. Oh well, no reason to rush it, we will know the right name when we hear it......right?!?!?!

Well.....we are getting ready to turn the spare bedroom/office/Joe's closet/junk room into the baby room. We have only gotten rid of the bed.....so we have a LONG way to go. So I will document the progress. Here are the first photos!!

Let's try this thing....

So, our friends Jackie and Chris are expecting too and she has been doing a blog of her baby progress. She said it was easy.....so let's see!!

I just went to the doctor on Monday and everything is looking great. Although.....instead of being 20 weeks along, she said I could be 21 weeks along. This is according to my Ultrasound a few weeks ago when we found out we are having a little girl.
