It seems like we can never get away from a sickness. We get over one thing and BAM we get something else. We are now fighting off a "bad cold". On Sunday we went to a friends 1 year b-day party and Riley was not herself there. She was very clingy and wanted to be held the whole time. I just chalked it up to being tired. So we left early from the party, went home and she napped. Then when she woke up she was even fussier. So we did dinner and bath then she went right back to bed for the night around 7pm. Well....at about 8pm she woke up SCREAMING and the only way to calm her down was to get her out of her crib. She would immediately lay her head on your shoulder and fall right back to sleep. We would put her back in, she would sleep....for about 20 minutes!! Then wake up SCREAMING again!! This happened the whole night!! Ever 20 minutes we were up with her!! Then finally at 5am she fell asleep. I got up at that time and just went to work. I called GiGi at noon and she said that she was fine all morning. So at 3 when I went to get her yesterday I assumed that she was fine.....I was wrong! Cynthia was holding her while she slept. GiGi said that right after we got off the phone Riley fell apart. Wanted to be held and wanted to sleep in your arms. So I took her home and went to put her down for a nap, she was not having it. So Riley and I laid in my bed from 4-7:30 while she slept in my arms. I finally woke her up at 7:30 and tried to give her dinner. She was not having it. he just screamed and wanted to sleep.
So...long story short, we took her to the Urgent Care (useless trip) then to her pediatrician this morning. Dr. Cross said that she is fighting off a horrible cold. But, she is starting to cough again so we need to watch that. She goes tomorrow for her 9 month check up (I know, a little late, but we really wanted Dr. Cross and it was her earliest appointment). So she said today that she will recheck her lungs tomorrow since she gets respiratory problems REALLY easily. She has been pretty fussy tonight too....which was one of the MANY things Dr. Cross told me we should watch out for.
Luckily tomorrows appointment will be a fast and easy one for her. I think that she is starting to hate the doctors. Every time she goes she is either pocked or prodded. But tomorrow will be about a 10 minute visit. Normally at the 9 month appointment they draw blood, but since they did it a month ago with her Respiratory Infection they don't have to do it again. YIPPEE!!
I know this was a long post....sorry!!
